BALTIMORE, Md. — Gregor Peirce, 15, took home the first-place trophy in the Male Youth B category of the U.S. National Bouldering Championships held at Earth Treks Climbing Gym in suburban Baltimore in February. Competitors climb boulders without harnesses, but with pads at the base.

A teacher in the Moraga Ward, Oakland California Stake, Gregor was among those qualifying in 15 regional competitions across the United States invited to compete in the nationals.
