CALGARY, Alberta After online votes were counted, former University of Calgary basketball star and current Tempe Arizona West Stake President Karl M. Tilleman was named the greatest Dino athlete in history, according to an article on the university's Web site. He was among 40 nominees for the distinction and was honored at the 40th Annual "Night of the Dino" on Thursday, April 5.
President Tilleman distinguished himself on the basketball court as a long-range shooting guard, leading the nation in scoring for two years, and was drafted by the Denver Nuggets of the NBA. He went on to play for the Canadian national team in the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympics, serving in the California Arcadia (Spanish speaking) Mission in between.
