Family: Born Oct. 20, 1956, in Elmshorn, Germany, to Kurt and Helga Haupt Kopischke. Married Christiane Gluck on Dec. 18, 1978, in the Bern Switzerland Temple; seven children: Anika; Jennifer (Benjamin) Keil; Benjamin; Daniel; Johannes; Tobias; Simon.

Employment: Worked in insurance industry until being appointed area director for the Church Educational System, and later, coordinator of CES in Frankfurt, Germany.

Education:

Industrial manager (vocational school)

Insurance broker (additional vocational education)

Church Service: Area Seventy and counselor in the Europe Central Area; president of Germany Berlin Mission, 2003-06; stake president; district president; high councilor; branch president; bishop's counselor; missionary in the Germany Munich Mission, 1975-77.

Military service: German military service from 1977-1978.
