COVE FORT, Utah — Cove Fort Historic Site had a record-breaking 925 visitors which included several youth groups June 23, President Gordon B. Hinckley's 97th birthday.

Cove Fort was built under the direction of President Hinckley's grandfather, Ira N. Hinckley, in 1867. The Hinckley family ran the fort as a waystation until 1890. Cove Fort was dedicated in 1994 as a "spiritual waystation" with 32 full-time senior couple missionaries serving during the summer months.

The fort is open year round to the public and is located at the crossroads of I-15 and I-70 in central Utah. In 2006, the fort hosted 79,354 visitors.
