MEDFORD, Ore. — Some 600 youth from southern Oregon and Northern California comprising four stakes gathered on June 23 to perform a youth musical celebration event entitled "Stand on Higher Ground." More than 2,000 spectators took in the three performances that occurred in the afternoon and the evening. The event, which was dedicated to President Gordon B. Hinckley as it was his 97th birthday, was performed with music, scripts and dance.

"Teaming up scores of dedicated adults with the wonderful youth of this region, to mentor them with kindness and to provide for them a forum for friendships to flourish was the intended goal," said Susan Harris, event coordinator.
