Church members have sent messages of condolence to the family of President James E. Faust.
"There has been a tremendous outpouring of respect and appreciation for President Faust and sympathy for his loved ones," said President Gordon B. Hinckley during funeral services Aug. 14. "International, national, and local government, education, religious, and civic leaders have also sent their condolences."
President Faust's family expressed gratitude for the letters, cards, flowers and other tributes that have come from throughout the world.
"I express on behalf of the Faust family our deep appreciation to the thousands of saints from across the world who have offered messages of love for our father," said President Faust's son, Bishop Marcus G. Faust. "Eloquence is elusive when describing the simultaneous emotions of gratitude and sorrow one feels at the tender time such as this. Perhaps simplicity is best. Thank you, and on this special day, we welcome all of you as members of the Faust family, you are our brothers and sisters."
The family regrets that they are unable to respond to each expression of condolence individually.
