The following have been called to serve as temple presidents and
matrons. They will begin their service about Nov. 1. They have been called
to a three-year term of service.

Doris Marie and C. Elmer Black
Elmer Black Jr., 64, Clinton Ward,
Jackson Mississippi Stake;
Memphis Tennessee Temple, succeeding President
John Richard Thorderson. President Black's wife,
Doris Marie Cartmell Black, will serve as temple matron. He has
served as a member of the Fifth and Sixth Quorums of the Seventy, stake
president and counselor, bishop, and stake and ward Young Men president. A
retired insurance company executive; he was born in Savannah, Ga., to Clyde
Elmer Sr. and Sallie Lucile Brown Black.
Sister Black, has served as a ward Relief Society and Young Women
president, counselor in a stake Primary presidency, counselor in a ward
Relief Society presidency, and Gospel Doctrine teacher. Born in Whitman,
W.V., to James M. and Margie M. VanNatter Cartmell.
Richard N. and Pamela L. Christensen
Richard Neils Christensen, 63, Marble
Cliff Ward, Columbus Ohio Stake;
Columbus Ohio Temple, succeeding President
Don Lee Tobler. President Christensen's wife,
Pamela
Little Christensen, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the
Columbus Ohio Temple presidency; he served as a temple ordinance worker,
Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission president, counselor in the Ohio
Columbus Mission presidency, counselor in a stake presidency, high
councilor, bishop, bishop's counselor, and elders quorum president.
Professor Emeritus, at Ohio State University; he was born in Minot, N.D.,
to Rangwell Niels and Mable Smyth Christensen.
Sister Christensen, an assistant to the matron of the Columbus Ohio
Temple, served with her husband as he presided over a mission, and is a
former stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society president and
counselor, stake and ward Primary president, and seminary teacher. Born in
Ogden, Utah, to George Rich and Edna Eliza Porter Little.
Abel T. and Elsa B. Gonzales
Abel Telesforo Gonzales Rebaza, 68,
Santa Patricia Ward, Lima Peru La Molina Stake;
Cochabamba Bolivia Temple,
succeeding President David Evans Heywood Jr. President Gonzales' wife,
Elsa Bibiana Paz Soldan Estrada de Gonzales,
will serve as temple matron. Currently serving as patriarch in the Lima
Peru La Molina Stake; he is a former temple sealer, ordinance worker, stake
president, branch president, and high councilor. A retired administrator
and instructor in the Church Educational System; he was born in Tacna,
Peru, to Luis Gonzales Robles and Clara Rebaza Navarro.
Sister Gonzales has served as a temple ordinance worker, stake Primary
president, counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, ward Sunday School
teacher, nursery leader, and Relief Society visiting teaching supervisor.
Born in Lima, Peru, to Fernando Paz Soldan and Elsa Estrada.
Dina B. and Izaias P. Nogueira
Izaias Pivato Nogueira, 54, Centro
Ward, Sao Joao da Boa Vista Brazil Stake;
Campinas Brazil Temple,
succeeding President Adhemar Damiani. President Nogueira's wife,
Dina Barbosa Nogueira, will serve as temple
matron. A counselor in the
Sao Paulo Brazil Temple presidency; he has
served as a stake president, counselor in the Ribeirao Preto Brazil Mission
presidency, temple ordinance worker, high councilor, bishop, branch
president, and branch Young Men president. A retired consultant; he was
born in Sao Joao da Boa Vista, Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Joao and Angelina
Pivato Nogueira.
Sister Nogueira, an assistant to the matron of the Sao Paulo Brazil
Temple, has formerly served as a temple ordinance worker, ward Relief
Society president, counselor in a stake and ward Relief Society presidency,
ward Sunday School teacher, and seminary teacher. Born in Vargem Grande do
Sul, Brazil, to Antonio Barbosa and Maria Bolonha Barbosa.
William J. and Luonna Dee N. Schilling
William Jacob Schilling, 64, Rochester
Ward, Grand Blanc Michigan Stake;
Detroit Michigan Temple, succeeding
President David Ray Shurtz. President Schilling's wife,
Luonna Dee Nielson Schilling, will serve as temple
matron. Currently serving as ward mission leader; he is a former stake
president and counselor, stake mission president, bishop, bishop's
counselor, and high councilor. Retired consultant for
PricewaterhouseCoopers, following a career as an executive in the
automobile manufacturing industry. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eugene
Alvin and Rosa Heiniger Schilling.
Sister Schilling has served as a temple ordinance worker, stake Young
Women and Primary president, counselor in a stake Relief Society
presidency, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, and seminary
teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Mazel Alma and Melda Leah DeLange
Nielson.
Katherine M. and H. Ross Workman
Harley Ross Workman, 66, Brighton 8th

Laie Hawaii Temple, succeeding President
Wayne Octave Ursenbach. President Workman's wife,
Katherine Evelyn Meyers Workman, will serve as
temple matron. A former member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy, he has
served as
Hawaii Honolulu Mission president, bishop, ward Young Men
president, and Aaronic Priesthood adviser. A retired patent attorney with
Workman Nydegger, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harley Ervin and
Lucille Ramsey Workman.
Sister Workman served with her husband as he presided over a mission,
and is a former ward Primary president; counselor in a ward Relief Society,
Young Women, and Primary presidencies; and ward Young Women adviser. Born
in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eugene Ellsworth and Dorothy Miller Meyers.
