LILONGWE, Malawi The Church continues to grow in Malawi, with the creation of the fourth branch here on Aug. 14, 2007. Nineteen people gathered in a private home to form the Lilongwe Malawi Branch of the Church, with Zimbabwe Harare Mission President Andre Bester presiding. President Bester officially created the branch with the sustaining of Lyson Jarson Ntholowa as the branch president and Graciun Mwanawasha as his counselor and elders quorum president.
Malawi, which is often called the "warm heart of Africa," is a landlocked country located in the southeastern part of the continent. It is bordered on the north and east by Tanzania, on the east, south and southwest by Mozambique and to the west by Zambia. The first branch, the Sitima Village Branch, was created on May 23, 1999. The first meetinghouse was dedicated July 3, 2005.
