NUKU'ALOFA, Tonga President Fineasi Nau of the Nuku'alofa Tonga Central Stake hosted Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve, and his wife, Wendy, at a traditional Tongan feast Nov. 2.
The feast, also attended by Elder Spencer J. Condie of the Seventy, and President Eric B. Shumway of the Nuku'alofa Tonga Temple, and other visitors, was held on the Beach of Fua'amotu, dubbed "Heaven on Earth Resort," by President Nau.
President Nau told visitors of the work he and his family have done to make the resort beautiful. Indeed, he said, views from the area are so stunning it must be "the place where heaven and earth meet."
The feast included roasted pig, umu pit-cooked chicken and fish, and numerous other Tongan delicacies prepared by local Church members.
Held on a day filled with heavy rain showers, the feast was staged without the concern of rain. "We have no worries about the rain," President Nau told Elder Nelson. "We say to ourselves, 'If we do our part and He is pleased, it will not rain."'
