The First Presidency has called six new Missionary Training Center presidents with their wives. They will begin service about Jan. 1, 2008.

Richard Bowman Cannon, 66, South Africa Missionary Training Center; Parleys 6th Ward, Salt Lake Parleys Stake; stake missionary preparation teacher; former president of the Maryland Baltimore Mission, bishop, Young Men president, high priests group leader and missionary in the Central German Mission. Retired Endocrinologist. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Thomas Quentin and Katherine Bowman Cannon. Married Judith Mae Sloan, three children.

A counselor in the stake Young Women presidency, Sister Cannon served with her husband in the Maryland Baltimore Mission and is a former Relief Society and Young Women president, achievement day leader, counselor in Young Women and Relief Society presidencies and Young Women adviser. Born in Billings, Mont., to Carl Stanley and Anna Grace Anderson Sloan.

Joseph Holbrook Groberg, 64, Peru Missionary Training Center; Woodruff 1st Ward, Idaho Falls Idaho Ammon West Stake; Aaronic priesthood adviser and temple ordinance worker; former president of the Peru Lima South Mission, bishop, high priest group leader, high councilor and missionary in the Andes Mission. City councilman for the City of Idaho Falls and retired attorney. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Delbert Valentine and Jennie Holbrook Groberg. Married Jeanne Pratt, four children.

A ward Primary teacher and chorister and temple ordinance worker, Sister Groberg served with her husband in the Peru Lima South Mission and is a former ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women adviser and activities committee chairman. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Claron Ure and Virginia Reeves Pratt.

David Kent Harmon, 64, Ghana Missionary Training Center; Oak Hills 4th Ward, Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake; high councilor; former president of the Madagascar Antananarivo Mission, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency and missionary in the French Mission. Retired urologist. Born in Oakland, Calif., to Kent Midgley and LaFaye Steed Harmon. Married Laura Louise Tippetts, eight children.

A gospel doctrine teacher, Sister Harmon is a former member of the Young Women General Board, counselor in a Primary presidency, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women adviser and stake music chairman. Born in Albany, Calif., to Joyce Waters and Jean Hulme Tippetts.

Charles Eugene Hill, 65, Spain Missionary Training Center; Orchard 3rd Ward, Orem Utah East Stake; executive secretary to the Provo Missionary Training Center presidency; former president of the Bolivia La Paz Mission, president of the Hawaii Language Training Mission, counselor in a stake presidency and bishop. Retired as director of International Missionary Training Centers. Born in St. George, Utah, to Mark Eugene and Leonora Andrus Hill. Married Joan Pratt, six children.

A visiting teaching supervisor, Sister Hill is a former ward Relief Society president, counselor in ward Young Women, Relief Society and Primary presidencies, ward librarian and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Artesia, Calif., to Victor Thomas and Leona Maxfield Pratt.

Gerald Winters Tedrow, 66, Independence Visitor's Center and Liberty Jail Historic Site; Highland 8th Ward, Highland Utah Stake; former high priest group leader, counselor in a stake Sunday School presidency, ward Sunday School president, ward mission leader, bishop, high councilor and missionary in the British Mission. Retired executive director of Western Petroleum Marketers Association and CEO of Western Mutual Insurance Company. Born in Pueblo, Colo., to Ralph S. and Bernice Louise Winters Tedrow. Married Ina Lee Baadsgaard, five children.

Sister Tedrow is a former temple ordinance worker, visiting teaching supervisor, counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, stake Relief Society secretary, counselor in ward Primary and Relief Society presidencies, and Primary teacher. Born in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Alfred Beck and Lola Clayson Baadsgaard.

Arlan Wallace Woodward, 67, Brazil Missionary Training Center; Studio City Ward, North Hollywood California Stake; temple ordinance worker and high priest group leader; former president of the Brazil Porto Alegre North Mission, regional welfare agent, bishop and missionary in the Brazil/Uruguay Mission. Owner, Agribusiness. Born in Tooele, Utah, to Alfred George and Minnie Norma Severe Woodward. Married Sally Johanna Lindsey, three children.
