And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. — John 10:16

At a (private) school in Mission, Texas, I read about Moses, Joseph, and about Jesus going to visit the "other sheep." I would ask myself, "Who are these other sheep?"

When I was 14, I found the Joseph Smith Story pamphlet at a neighbor's house. I read it and was very much impressed by it. When I was 18, a friend gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon and told me that it had been written upon plates of gold. He said that the true church of Jesus Christ was upon the earth, and that it had twelve apostles. This message was electrifying to me, apostles and prophets in this day and age with the same power as before!

I went straight home and began reading. When I got to page 30, I felt I must put the book down and go to the front door. To my surprise, I saw two Mormon missionaries half a block away, about to drive away. I ran as fast as I could to reach them, and they stopped. I asked them to teach me about what I had been reading in the Book of Mormon. They explained to me that the "other sheep" mentioned in the Gospel of John were visited by Christ after His resurrection, and this took place in America.

They asked me to read John 10:16, and then in 3 Nephi 15:21. I had found out for myself the meaning of the words "other sheep!" — Silvano Flores, Pasadena, Texas
