Edgar Munoz of the Granjas Ward, Cali Colombia Stake, knew something of the Church before receiving the Book of Mormon. Several relatives were faithful members. His uncle, Arcadio Munoz, had served as Cali's first patriarch. But it was the Book of Mormon that whispered gospel truths to Brother Munoz two years ago, touching his heart and forever changing his life.

Arnold Friberg captures one of the classic confrontations in the Book of Mormon as Abinadi boldly testifies in the court of King Noah. Prophets then and now have testified eloquently and prolifically of the book's divinity and power.

In January of 2006, our family received our first visit from the Mormon missionaries. They gave us a special gift: a copy of the Book of Mormon. They asked us to read Moroni 10:3-5 and pray about its challenge.

I not only read that scripture passage, but spent 12 hours studying this marvelous book. It was during this time that life changed for me and my wife.

We decided to be baptized and became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Feb. 18, 2006.

A year later, we were sealed in the Bogota Colombia Temple. Today we are a couple united for time and all eternity.

The Book of Mormon has become, for me, a guide that directs me in all aspects of my life. Coupled with daily prayer, the Book of Mormon provides me with spiritual strength necessary to live each day in the best possible manner. It provides me with the certainty that I have the help of my Father in Heaven and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Today I serve as the second counselor in our ward bishopric. I have only been in the Church a short time, but my testimony continues to grow.

I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is our guide to reaching heaven.

The Book of Mormon changed my life — and it continues to improve my life for the better, along with many, many others.
