CENTRALIA, WASH.

Relief Society sisters in the Centralia Washington Stake headed up a service project during which some 1,400 blankets were collected and donated to victims of recent floods here. Called "Operation Blankie," the project began with a call to ward Relief Society presidents and members in the bordering Centralia Washington North Stake in the wake of flooding in early December. By Tuesday, Dec. 18, the sisters were overwhelmed with the donations, which were bagged and sent by noon to local schools affected by the floods.

Blankets were also sent to damaged coastal towns and to an area assisted living home.
