Four new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency,
with their wives called as matrons. They will begin service soon.
Helga and Frank H. Apel
Frank Herbert Apel, 68, Freiberg Ward,
Dresden Germany Stake, called as president of the
Freiberg Germany Temple,
succeeding President Manfred H. Schutze. President Apel's wife,
Helga Julaine Skibbe Apel, will serve as temple
matron. President Apel, currently serving in the presidency of the Germany
Berlin Mission, previously served as president of the Germany Frankfurt and
Germany Dusseldorf Missions, stake president, counselor in a district
presidency, and as a branch president. Retired owner of a car dealership,
he was born in Freiberg, Saxony, Germany, to Max Herbert and Lucie M.
Schneider Apel.
Sister Apel, currently serving as a Primary teacher, served with her
husband as he presided over the Germany Frankfurt and Germany Dusseldorf
Missions, as well as a Relief Society president and counselor, and Primary
president. She was born in Greifswald, Macklenburg, Germany, to Wilhelm and
Juliane Kaletta Skibbe.
Raimondo and Anita Castellani
Raimondo Castellani, 57, Muggi? Ward,
Tranquillo Alessandro Dal Zotto Stake, called as president of the Bern
Switzerland Temple, succeeding President Wayne M. Hancock. President
Castellani's wife,
Anita Maioli Castellani,
will serve as temple matron. President Castellani, currently serving as a
bishop, previously served as an Area Seventy, regional representative,
stake president, bishop and branch president. Retired executive of an
international electronic and photonics company, he was born in Sant'Agata
Feltria, PU, Italy, to Giacomo and Norma Bologna Castellani.
Sister Castellani, currently serving as an institute teacher, previously
served in ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary presidencies, and as
a seminary teacher. She was born in Cento, Ferrara, Italy, to Paolo and
Giovannina Mantovani Maioli.
Garry K. and LaNell Moore
Garry Keith Moore, 66, Mueller Park
4th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake, called as president of the
Madrid Spain Temple, succeeding President F. Burton Howard. President
Moore's wife,
LaNell Lines Moore, will serve
as temple matron. President Moore, currently serving as an institute
teacher, has served as the president of the Argentina Buenos Aires West
Mission, counselor in the Provo Missionary Training Center presidency,
stake president's counselor, co-chairman of the Aaronic Priesthood and
Young Women Curriculum Committee and as bishop. A Church Educational System
administrator, he was born in Alamosa, Colo., to Keith Smith and Verlene
Reed Paquin Moore.
Sister Moore, currently serving as an institute teacher, served with her
husband as he presided over the Argentina Buenos Aires West Mission, and as
a General Relief Society Board member, co-chairman of the Aaronic
Priesthood and Young Women Curriculum Committee, counselor in a stake Young
Women presidency, and ward Young Women president. She was born in Phoenix,
Ariz., to Wilton Henry and Theda Butler Lines.
Joanne and Earl C. Tingey
Earl Carr Tingey, 74, Mueller Park 7th
Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake, called as president of the
Washington D.C. Temple, succeeding President F. Melvin Hammond. President
Tingey's wife,
Joanne Wells Tingey, will
serve as temple matron. President Tingey, currently serving in the
Presidency of the Seventy, previously served as a regional representative,
president of the Australia Sydney and Australia East Missions, high
councilor and bishop. A retired corporate attorney, he was born in
Bountiful, Utah, to William Wesley and Sylvia Frances Carr Tingey.
Sister Tingey, currently serving as a Relief Society visiting teacher,
served with her husband as he presided over the Australia Sydney and
Australia East Missions, as well as ward Young Women president, ward
Primary president, ward music chairman and counselor in a ward Relief
Society presidency. She was born in Logandale, Nev., to Edwin Gordon and
Amy Viola Earl Wells.
