Four new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency,
with their wives called as matrons.
Carol and L. Edward Brown
Lowell Edward Brown, 71, Chappel
Valley 1st Ward, Lehi Utah South Stake, called as president of the Mount
Timpanogos Utah Temple, succeeding President Lawrence S. Clarke. President
Brown's wife,
Carol Ewer Brown, will serve as
temple matron. President Brown, serving as a high priests group leader and
sealer, previously served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy, as president
of the Korean Mission, counselor in the
Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple
presidency, stake president, bishop, high councilor and ward Young Men
president. A retired area and institute director in the Church Educational
System, he was born in Preston, Idaho, to Lowell and Helen Lucille Peterson
Brown.
Sister Brown serves as a ward Relief Society instructor and ward
organist. She served with her husband as he presided over the Korean
Mission, and as an assistant to the matron at the Mount Timpanogos Utah
Temple, as well as a ward Young Women president and counselor, and in a
stake and ward Relief Society presidency. She was born in Logan, Utah, to
William and Dorothy Olsen Ewer.
Dale R. and Norma Hettinger
Dale Roy Hettinger, 68, Crestwood 2nd
Ward, Louisville Kentucky Stake, called as president of the Louisville
Kentucky Temple, succeeding President Robert F. Lowe. President Hettinger's
wife,
Norma Lee Nunn Hettinger, will serve as
temple matron. President Hettinger serves as an assistant recorder in the
Louisville Kentucky Temple and as a Family History missionary. He
previously served as a counselor in the
Kentucky Louisville Mission
presidency, stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, bishop's
counselor and in a stake Young Men presidency. A civil engineer and retired
director for Louisville Jefferson County Metro Public Works and Assets, he
was born in Louisville, Ky., to Roy William George and Celeste Herold
Hettinger.
Sister Hettinger serves with her husband as a Family History missionary.
She previously served as stake and ward Relief Society president, ward
Young Women president, counselor in stake and ward Primary presidencies,
and director of a stake Family History Center. She was born in Glasgow,
Ky., to Wesley Lee and Dorothy Mae Thompson Nunn.
Wilda and David K Udall
David K Udall, 72, Mesa 25th Ward,
Mesa Arizona Maricopa North Stake, called as president of the Asuncion
Paraguay Temple, succeeding President Richard R. George. President Udall's
wife,
Wilda Louise Merrill Udall, will serve
as temple matron. President Udall serves as a public affairs director in
the greater Phoenix area. He previously served as president of the
Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission, stake president, stake president's
counselor and bishop. A retired attorney, he was born in Thatcher, Ariz.,
to Jesse Addison and Lela Lee Udall.
Sister Udall serves as ward choir director and Relief Society teacher.
She served with her husband as he presided over the Argentina Buenos Aires
North Mission, and has also served in a stake and ward Young Women
presidency, as a family record extraction specialist and as a Cub Scout
leader. She was born in Thatcher, Ariz., to Walter William and Wilda
Arrilla Farley Merrill.
Cherie and Jacob J. Van Ry
Jacob John Van Ry, 76, East Mill Creek
12th Ward, Salt Lake East Millcreek North Stake, called as president of The
Hague Netherlands Temple, succeeding President Marcus Reijnders. President
Van Ry's wife,
Cherie Weight Van Ry, will
serve as temple matron. President Van Ry, recently released as a bishop in
the Netherlands, has previously served as president of the Netherlands
Amsterdam Mission, stake president, stake mission president, high
councilor, bishop's counselor and gospel doctrine teacher. A retired
executive vice president of Merit Medical Systems, Inc. in Europe, he was
born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Cornelius and Hendrica Swart Van Ry.
Sister Van Ry served with her husband as he presided over the
Netherlands Amsterdam Mission, and as ward Young Women president, ward
Primary president and counselor, ward music chairman, and as a counselor in
a stake and ward Relief Society presidency. She was born in Hurricane,
Utah, to Ormon Ralph and Fern Amelia Weight.
