Sister Freja Cross serves on Temple Square after growing up in the Church in Australia.

A love for music isn't all the two sisters, companions at the time of the fireside, share. They first met when they arrived together at the Provo Missionary Training Center last March.

Each of them grew up in the Church because of the faithfulness of their convert parents.

During a Church News interview, Sister Cross recalled her father telling her about his conversion story.

Ian Cross was born and raised in the Australian Outback, Sister Cross said of her father. As a young man, he went to school in Sydney and, later, actually was training to be a priest at a monastery in Adelaide before questioning some of the religious teachings.

He moved back to Sydney where he had a roommate who was a member of the Church. That roommate, along with the missionaries, got Ian involved in young single adult activities and, after a time investigating, he joined the Church. He served a building mission in Sydney.

After his mission, he attended an institute class where he met Marion Greer, who had served a mission to Perth, Australia. Their relationship blossomed and, after a civil marriage in Sydney, they flew to New Zealand for their temple marriage.

Freja is the oldest of their three children. She and Sister Ko were born the same year, 1984, which was the year each had a temple dedicated in her hometown — Sydney on Sept. 20-23, and Taipei on Nov. 17-18. — Greg Hill
