A 16-track album including live recordings from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's 2007 Christmas concert featuring The King's Singers is now available at U.S. music and online retailers, including MormonTabernacleChoir.org.
"Rejoice and Be Merry!" offers selections from the concert. The album includes a mix of traditional and contemporary Christmas carols. On the CD are the Spanish carols "El nino querido," and "Riu, riu, chiu," and "La peregrinacion," all featuring The King's Singers, a celebrated British classical ensemble. Other selections on the album include "What Child Is This?" "Angels, from the Realms of Glory," "Sussex Carol," and the title track, "Rejoice and Be Merry." A new arrangement of the classic "The Twelve Days of Christmas" by choir director Mack Wilberg is a highlight of the recording.
This is The King's Singers' first recording with the Tabernacle Choir, although the group has performed with the choir on four occasions.
The 2007 Christmas Concert with the Tabernacle Choir and The King's Singers will be shown nationally on PBS stations in December. Viewers should check local listings for dates and times.
