Seven mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1, 2009. Their mission assignments will be announced later.
Sherman Leroy Doll, 54, and Linda Susan Doll, six children, Concord 1st Ward, Concord California Stake. Brother Doll is a counselor in the stake presidency and is a former bishop and counselor, ward mission leader, seminary teacher, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Venezuela Caracas Mission. CPA and partner, Thomas, Wirig, Doll & Company. Born in Sacramento, Calif., to Elwood Leroy and Joe Ann Brake Doll. Sister Doll is a former counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, assistant stake Young Women camp director, temple ordinance worker, seminary teacher and counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency. Born in Oakland, Calif., to Paul Wendell and Lorraine Marie Souza Duncan.
Armand Duane Johansen, 57, and Juliet Warner Johansen, seven children, Mount Olympus 4th Ward, Salt Lake Mount Olympus North Stake. Brother Johansen is bishop of the Westminster (Student Single) Ward and institute instructor and is a former high councilor, ward Young Men president, high priest group leader, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Norway Mission. Partner, Johansen Thackeray Commercial Real Estate. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Johan Armand and Hildur Fluge Johansen. Sister Johansen serves with her husband in the Westminster (Student Single) Ward and is a former stake Relief Society secretary, ward Relief Society teacher, Cub Scout leader, ward Primary secretary and counselor in a ward Young Women presidency. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard Longstroth and Marian Cannon Nelson Warner.
Kent Hyrum Murdock, 61, and Barbara Coulam Murdock, five children, East Mill Creek 12th Ward, Salt Lake East Millcreek North Stake. Elder Murdock is an Area Seventy and a former stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop, bishop's counselor and missionary in the Franco-Belgian Mission. Chief executive officer, O.C. Tanner Company. Born in Montpelier, Idaho, to Joseph Grant and Sarah Ora Griffiths Murdock. A ward Relief Society compassionate service leader, Sister Murdock is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Primary president and teacher, ward Young Women president and adviser, and stake young single adult adviser. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Louis and Verna Tobler Coulam.
Darwin Franz Peterson, 57, and Nola Knutti Peterson, five children, Bountiful 24th Ward, Bountiful Utah Heights Stake. Brother Peterson is a Varsity Scout coach assistant and Aaronic priesthood adviser and a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor, stake young single adult adviser and missionary in the Argentina North Mission. Engineering project manager, QSI Corporation. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Andrew and LaVon Brauer Peterson. Sister Peterson is a former ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president, counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, ward Young Women adviser and stake young single adult adviser. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Edward and Calpurnia Dabel Knutti.
Michael Sherrod Smith, 58, and Janis Johnson Smith, five children, Mesa 46th Ward, Mesa Arizona East Stake. Brother Smith is a former missionary in the Asia Area Office, high councilor, bishop, elders quorum president, temple ordinance worker and missionary in the Southeast Asia Mission. Retired territory sales manager, Bristol-Myers Squibb Virology. Born in Nampa, Idaho, to Sherrod Smith Jr. and Marian James Smith. Sister Smith served with her husband in the Asia Area Office and is a former stake and ward Young Women president, counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Relief Society president and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Leroy and Belva Johnson.
Jon Charles Trejo, 58, and Roxanne Rawsthorne Trejo, seven children, Cornerstone Ward, Gilbert Arizona Highland Stake. Brother Trejo is a former missionary in the Russia Moscow Mission, bishop and counselor, counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor and elders quorum president. Partner/president, Trejo Oil Company. Born in Tucson, Ariz., to Ralph Charles and Edna Cardon Trejo. Sister Trejo served with her husband as a missionary in the Russia Moscow Mission and is a former ward Primary teacher, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Young Women adviser, temple ordinance worker and counselor in a stake Young Women presidency. Born in Tucson, Ariz., to Ernest George and Nella Louise Cuskey Rawsthorne.
David G. Wade, 39, and Debbie Farnsworth Wade, three children, Fruit Heights 3rd Ward, Fruit Heights Utah Stake. Brother Wade is a bishop and a former high councilor, ward Young Men president and adviser, counselor in an elders quorum presidency and missionary in the California Anaheim Mission. Manager, Missionary Department of the Church. Born in Boise, Idaho, to Gary Leroy and Phyllis Fielding Wade. A ward Relief Society teacher, Sister Wade is a former Nursery leader, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, ward Primary teacher, Cub Scout leader, and ward enrichment leader. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Roland Evans and Susan Farnsworth.
