Kris J. Mecham

Kris J. Mecham, CEO of Deseret First Federal Credit Union in Salt Lake City, was elected chairman of the board of directors for the Credit Union National Association on Feb. 27. He will fill a two-year term as chairman of the board for CUNA, a trade association serving 90 percent of America's 8,300 credit unions and based in Washington, D.C.

Brother Mecham originally hails from Idaho. He's married to the former Stephanie Bessire, and together they have five children ranging in ages from 20-29, and six grandchildren. The Mechams reside in the Ashley Park Ward, Sandy Utah Granite South Stake.
