Church meetings in Mexico will resume as normal on Thursday, according to Elder C. Scott Grow, first counselor in the Mexico Area Presidency.
"Everything will be back to normal (on Thursday) except for missionaries coming and going," Elder Grow said. "That will be on Monday (May) 11."
Elder Grow went on to explain that the Church's response to the swine-flu epidemic in Mexico has been fully in line with mandates handed down from the Mexican government.
"We review the government announcements and the medical pronouncements each day," he said. "As of today (May 4), the government has said they are allowing businesses to meet as normal beginning Wednesday and that upper-level schools can resume Thursday. Elementary schools will resume operation on Monday the 11th.
"Basically, we've just been following the counsel of the government and abiding by their edicts. Now that they are loosening the restrictions, we're back in business."
