Five new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service about July 1, 2009.
Gary Scott Baughman, 62, and Marilyn Elizabeth Cundick Baughman, four children, Hungary Budapest Mission; Southlake Ward, Colleyville Texas Stake. Brother Baughman is a former stake president, bishop, high councilor, elders quorum president, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Central British Mission. Retired chairman/chief executive officer, Fisher-Price and Petmate, Inc. Born in Long Beach, Calif.; son of Milo Ray and Caroline Fotheringham Baughman. Sister Baughman is a former stake and ward Relief Society president, temple ordinance worker, ward Relief Society and Primary pianist and counselor in a stake Primary presidency. Born in Midvale, Utah, to Harvey and Leila Abbott Cundick.
Mark James Callan, 54, and Sandra Peterson Callan, six children, Paraguay Asuncion Mission; Farmington 13th Ward, Farmington Utah Stake. Brother Callan is a ward young single adult adviser and a former stake president, bishop and counselor, high councilor, stake executive secretary and missionary in the Argentina Rosario Mission. Dentist. Born in Provo, Utah; son of Dale G. and Grace Kitchen Callan. Sister Callan is a ward young single adult adviser and a former counselor in ward Relief Society and Primary presidencies, ward Young Women adviser, ward compassionate service leader and member of the ward Relief Society enrichment committee. Born in Pendleton, Ore., to Lyle Albert and Marjorie May Peterson.
Dirk Alan Cotterell, 52, and Lilly Ann Spendlove Cotterell, six children, North Carolina Raleigh Mission; Corner Canyon 1st Ward, Draper Utah Corner Canyon Stake. Brother Cotterell is a ward Young Men president and a former stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop, bishop's counselor and missionary in the Texas Dallas Mission. Chief executive officer, Management Recruiters of Salt Lake City. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Melvin Adrian and Joy Arlene Phippen Cotterell. Sister Cotterell is a ward Primary teacher and a former ward Primary and Young Women president, ward Young Women adviser, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency and Sunday School teacher. Born in San Fernando, Calif., to Clark and Eleanor Bennion Spendlove.
Jorge Esteban Detlefsen, 50, and Adriana Mabel Salomon Detlefsen, six children, Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission; Villa Belgrano Ward, Cordoba Argentina Sierras Stake. Brother Detlefsen is a stake president and a former counselor in the Argentina Cordoba Mission presidency, stake and district president, counselor in a stake presidency, ward mission leader and missionary in the Argentina Cordoba Mission. Director of Institute, Church Educational System. Born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, to Manuel and Matilde Margarita Torres de Detlefsen. Sister Detlefsen is a stake family history center director and seminary teacher and a former ward Relief Society president, stake Primary president and counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency. Born in Tres Arroyos, Argentina, to Rodolfo Martin and Elsa Maria Scigliano de Salomon.
Lazaro Saucedo, 46, and Ana Jaen Hernandez de Saucedo, three children, Mexico Guadalajara Mission; El Palmar Ward, Pachuca Mexico Stake. Brother Saucedo is a stake president and a former counselor in stake presidencies, bishop, high councilor, stake executive secretary and missionary in the Mexico Torreon Mission. Accounting instructor, Benemerito de las Americas. Born in Atezca, Molango, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Elias Saucedo Dorantes and Juana Sosa Velasco. Sister Saucedo is a ward Primary president and a former ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president, nursery leader and seminary teacher. Born in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Julian Jaen Martinez and Rebeca Hernandez Vigueras.
