Whether it is teaching seminary, assisting special needs children at school, working in the garden, teaching violin, or serving in the temple with her husband, Linda Jeanne Rose manages to keep plenty busy while still attending to her family.
"I am a doer," Sister Rose said. "Some people are responsible for doing great things . . . it doesn't really matter what we do, we just need to be what the Lord wants us to be. I'm just me."
As New Hampshire's Mother of the Year state representative, Sister Rose hopes to help other mothers figure out who they are. This helps mothers to be better mothers, she said.
"You can figure out who you are by discovering where you came from," said Sister Rose. "My passion is genealogy right now."
As part of her service as New Hampshire's representative, Sister Rose intends to do a genealogy exploration project that will help others in her community and state to learn more about where they came from.

"I needed to know who I am," Sister Rose said. "I asked the Lord to help me out, I learned that I am a daughter of my mother and father, a sister to my brothers and sisters, a mother to my children. All of the rest of the things I do are only to enhance that. …
"If you know who you are you are grounded. If you are grounded you aren't questioning what should I do today?"
After more than 35 years of marriage, Sister Rose and her husband Kenneth have lived in many places, giving opportunities for their family to grow.
"A 'Rose' should blossom where it is planted," Sister Rose said.
For Sister Rose, that philosophy is more than just an attitude for moving, it is a motto for life.
"Everywhere you go can be great when you are looking for the good things," she said. "It's all about your attitude. If your attitude is good, you will find it."
Ultimately, to Sister Rose, it is most important to look for the Lord's plans and follow them.
"I do what the Lord wants me to do, and He takes care of me," she said.
