FAMILY: Born April 12, 1953, in Salt Lake City to Wayne and Evelyn Moon Beck. Married Robyn Ericksen Sept. 9, 1976, in the Salt Lake Temple. Four children: Christy Gilvear (Scott), Jeff (Caitlyn), Ryan, Brandon. Two grandchildren.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and master's degree in engineering administration, University of Utah.

CAREER: An executive with a manufacturing and distribution company. Serves on the board of a technical college.

CHURCH SERVICE: President of the Brazil Rio de Janeiro North Mission (1996-1999), stake president, bishop, high councilor, counselor in a bishopric, elders quorum president, priests quorum adviser, assistant Scoutmaster; full-time missionary in Brazil, 1972-74.
