FAMILY: Born Feb. 26, 1947, in Boulder City, Nev., to Robert Owen and Thais Miner Gibson. Married Shirley Barton on Sept. 6, 1968, in the Manti Utah Temple. Six children: Tony (Amy), Brantt (Shirley), Tiffany Nelson (Jason), Colby (Alicia), Devan (Roseann) and Lance. Thirty-two grandchildren.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in computer science and business, master's degree in information science, all from BYU.
CAREER: President and CEO of several technology companies and, most recently, executive vice president and CTO for a Fortune 500 company.
CHURCH SERVICE: Serving as president of the Highland Utah West Stake at the time of his calling; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and ward and stake young men president, full-time missionary.
