MODOG, MONGOLIA
This summer, serious floods swept through the area, washing away some family gers (traditional round tent-like homes) and destroying the personal belongings of many others. With winterlike conditions already coming to this mountain town in one of the world's coldest countries, quick replacement of warm clothing and bedding was critical and urgent.
The Church in Mongolia responded to the need by buying a new ger for one family. For others in need, Relief Society sisters from the capital city of Ulaanbaatar delivered clothing and beautiful hand-made quilts. The new clothing and quilts will help keep families warm during Mongolia's long, harsh winter. The Relief Society quilt project is on-going and regularly provides warm bedding for families in need.
