OCT. 16 — The Orchestra of Sandy, conducted by Joel Rosenberg, will perform in the Assembly Hall at 7:30 p.m. The program will include selections by Bizet, Saint-Saens and Dvorak.

OCT. 17 — Soprano Shawna Gottfredson will present an operatic concert in the Assembly Hall at 7:30 p.m. She will be joined by associate artists Lawrence Gee, piano; Susan Goodfellow, flute; and Melissa Price, violin. Her program will include selections by Antonio Vivaldi, Claude Debussy, Richard Strauss, Amy Beach, Michael Head and Adolph Adam.

OCT. 17 — The registration period begins to obtain tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concerts. These concerts will be performed December 10-13. Tickets will be available through the random selection process. Registration for the selection process begins at 12:01 a.m. and will continue for several days. All registrations have an equal chance of receiving tickets. For more information, please visit lds.org/events.

SUNDAYS — "Music and the Spoken Word" is held Sunday mornings in the Tabernacle on Temple Square and features the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 9:15 a.m. for the 30-minute broadcast.

DAILY — "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration," a film about the life and legacy of Joseph Smith, is available Mondays through Saturdays at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the Legacy Theater and in the North Visitors Center on Sundays. The film runs every 90 minutes starting at 9 a.m., with the last showing beginning at 9 p.m. For more information, call 801-240-1245.

DAILY — The organ staff and guest organists perform 30-minute recitals in the Tabernacle from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday recitals will be performed from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle. Entrance to the Tabernacle is at door 11.
