OCT. 20 — Tickets go on sale for "Savior of the World." The show will run from Nov. 20 - Jan. 2. Tickets can be obtained over the Internet or by calling 801-570-0080 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Based on availability, tickets can be obtained in person at the ticket office located at door 4 of the Conference Center on Wednesday, Oct. 21. OCT. 23-24 — The Orchestra at Temple Square, under the direction of Igor Gruppman, is presenting a concert titled, "Autumn Symphony," at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle. Works include Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 (Emperor), Wagner's "Vorspiel und Liebestod" from Tristan and Isolde, and Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony. Tickets are required for this event and can be obtained by calling 570-0080 or via the Internet at lds.org/events.
SUNDAYS — "Music and the Spoken Word" is held Sunday mornings in the Tabernacle on Temple Square and features the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 9:15 a.m. for the 30-minute broadcast.
DAILY — "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration," a film about the life and legacy of Joseph Smith, is available Mondays through Saturdays at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the Legacy Theater and in the North Visitors Center on Sundays.
The film runs every 90 minutes starting at 9 a.m., with the last showing beginning at 9 p.m. For more information, call 801-240-1245.
DAILY — The organ staff and guest organists perform 30-minute recitals in the Tabernacle from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday recitals will be performed from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle. Entrance to the Tabernacle is at door 11.
