When he returned from the Brazil Recife Mission, Marcos Sergio Santi Scheffel Jr. didn't have a job and really needed to decide what he would do for a profession. He decided to study marketing and advertising.
Brother Scheffel of the Curitiba 2nd Ward, Curitiba Brazil Stake, didn't have money to pay for the preparatory course for the entrance exams, but prayed and took them anyway. To his great surprise and delight, he managed to pass the exams. Then he had to find a way to pay for the schooling.
He made a list of the companies in his area that focused on marketing and, to his surprise, the first company he went to offered him a job. He knew such prompt success in his job search was the result of much prayer and fasting.
However, the salary was small because he had no experience; he still couldn't pay for both school and living expenses.
It was then that he heard about the Perpetual Education Fund, and with the help of a loan he was able to budget carefully and meet his monthly expenses. It was perfect, he thought. He was able to attend school and still work and gain experience in his profession.
During all this, he was blessed to meet a marvelous woman and marry six months later. By working and attending school, they got through. After graduating, he was accepted into post-graduate school in marketing. And with his background, he was able to hone his qualifications and work in marketing for several companies.
Today, he has his own marketing agency that is growing every month.
He said he is extremely thankful for the help from the PEF.
