The First Presidency has called eight new Missionary Training Center presidents and their wives, who will serve with them. They will begin service about Jan. 1, 2010.

Talmage and Elaine Christensen

Talmage Dean Christensen, 65, and Elaine Davis Christensen, five children, South Africa Missionary Training Center; Bloomington 7th Ward, Bloomington Utah Stake. Brother Christensen is a former president of the California Los Angeles Mission, missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission, high priest group leader, bishop, stake mission president and missionary in the Scotland Mission. Retired real estate developer. Born in Delta, Utah, to Talmage and Shirley Webb Christensen.

Sister Christensen served with her husband in the California Los Angeles and Florida Jacksonville Missions and is a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, ward Relief Society president, and ward Young Women president and counselor. Born in Circleville, Utah, to Wilford Merrell and Gaia Peterson Davis.

Donald and Zlatarjewa Clark

Donald Leslie Clark, 68, and Zlatarjewa Janosch Clark, three children, Brazil Missionary Training Center; Lilburn Ward, Lilburn Georgia Stake. Brother Clark serves as a high priest group leader and is a former president of the Brazil Recife Mission, counselor in the Madrid Spain Temple, counselor in a stake presidency and bishop. Retired director for Temporal Affairs, Corporation of the Presiding Bishopric. Born in Omaha, Neb., to Leslie Vernon and Lillian Myrtle Willard Clark.

Sister Clark served with her husband in the Brazil Recife Mission and is a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, ward Relief Society president and ward Primary president. Born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia, (Czech Republic and Slovakia) to Alexander and Katarina Heinz Bayer Janosch.

Douglas and Connie Earl

Douglas Ken Earl, 62, and Connie Jones Earl, eight children, Spain Missionary Training Center; Moses Lake 4th Ward, Moses Lake Washington Stake. Brother Earl is a former president of the Peru Lima East Mission, PEF Missionary in the Peru Lima Mission, bishop, counselor in a branch presidency, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Andes and Columbia Venezuela Mission. Retired court commissioner and attorney. Born in Provo, Utah, to Ken and LuDeen Roylance Earl.

Sister Earl served with her husband in the Peru Lima East Mission, and in the Peru Lima Mission as a PEF Missionary. She is a former ward Relief Society president, counselor in ward Young Women and Primary presidencies, ward Relief Society teacher and ward Sunday school teacher. Born in Almo, Idaho, to Glen William and Doris Redington Jones.

Fredrick and Kathleen Froerer

Fredrick Froerer III, 65, and Kathleen Silver Larsen Froerer, eight children, Ghana Missionary Training Center; Middle Fork Ward, Huntsville Utah Stake. Brother Froerer serves as a member of the Utah North Area Public Affairs Council and is a former president of the Canada Montreal Mission, temple ordinance worker, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, Scoutmaster and missionary in the French East Mission. Chief deputy city attorney, Ogden, Utah. Born in Logan, Utah, to Fredrick and Phyllis Margaret Brown Froerer.

Sister Froerer serves as a member of the Utah North Area Public Affairs Council. She served with her husband in the Canada Montreal Mission, and is a former temple ordinance worker, stake Relief Society and Primary president, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary teacher and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Donald Sorensen and Louise Moyle Silver Larsen.

Richard and Jeannine George

Richard Riley George, 65, and Jeannine Evans George, nine children, Argentina Missionary Training Center; Cobble Creek 2nd Ward, West Jordan Utah Cobble Creek Stake. Brother George serves as a sealer in the Jordan River Temple and is a former president of the Asuncion Paraguay Temple, president of the Argentina Neuquen Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Southeast Mexico Mission. Retired institute director, Church Educational System. Born in Seattle, Wash., to Floyd Nott and Mabel Busha Patterson George.

Sister George served with her husband in the Argentina Neuquen Mission, and served as temple matron in the Asuncion Paraguay Temple, temple ordinance worker and Church Educational System instructor. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Preston Davis and Dorothy Grace Martin Evans.

Terry and Lucinda Kemp

Terry Gene Kemp, 64, and Lucinda Ruth Kitchen Kemp, eight children, Chile Missionary Training Center; Pleasant View 5th Ward, Provo Utah Sharon East Stake. Brother Kemp serves as a high councilor and is a former president of the Chile Santiago North Mission, bishop, high councilor, teacher development coordinator, ward Young Men adviser and missionary in the Andes Mission. General counsel, Cedar Strat Corp. Born in St. Louis, Mo., to Albert and June Moll Kemp.

Sister Kemp serves as a ward organist and Boy Scout advancement chairman, and served with her husband in the Chile Santiago North Mission. She is a former counselor in a ward Primary presidency, branch Young Women adviser, ward Relief Society teacher and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Logan, Utah, to Melvin and Verda McKee Kitchen.

Dyan and Wayne Steimle

Wayne Douglas Steimle, 66, and Dyan Rock Steimle, five children, Guatemala Missionary Training Center; Glendora 1st Ward, Glendora California Stake. Brother Steimle serves as a counselor in a stake presidency and is a former president of the Argentina Mendoza Mission, bishop, branch president, high councilor and missionary in the Argentina Mission. Retired Chief Executive Officer, California Pools. Born in Santa Maria, Calif., to Wayne Rock and LoRene Hawley Steimle.

Sister Steimle is a ward Relief Society president and served with her husband in the Argentina Mendoza Mission, and she is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president and ward Young Women president. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Thomas and Bernice Peebles Rock.

Clifford and Rosalyn Whetten

Clifford Leon Whetten, 63, and Rosalyn Hatch Whetten, four children, Peru Missionary Training Center; Valley View Ward, Layton Utah Kays Creek Stake. Brother Whetten serves as a temple ordinance worker and is a former president of the Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor and missionary in the Northern Mexican Mission. Retired professor and administrator, Texas A&M University. Born in Colonia Chuichupa, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Glen Adrian and Ada Mae Judd Whetten.

Sister Whetten is a temple ordinance worker. She served with her husband in the Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission and is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, gospel essentials teacher, and ward Relief Society teacher. Born in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ernest LeRoy and Marza Lunt Hatch.
