The First Presidency has called seven new Visitors Center directors and their wives. They will begin service about Jan. 1, 2010.

Manuel Fred Acosta and Lydia Castillo Acosta.

Manuel Fred Acosta, 69, and Lydia Castillo Acosta,Mexico City Temple Visitors Center; Mount Loafer Ward, Salem Utah West Stake, four children. Brother Acosta is a former president of the Costa Rica San Jose Mission, counselor in a mission presidency, bishop and counselor, high councilor, ward Young men adviser and missionary in the Costa Rica Mission. Retired senior U.S. diplomat. Born in Anaheim, Calif., to Alfred Tafolla and Maria Teresa Feliz Acosta.

Sister Acosta served with her husband in the Costa Rica San Jose Mission and is a former stake and ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and adviser and ward Primary president and teacher. Born in Houston, Texas, to Romualdo and Sara Martinez Castillo.

Timothy Sears Evans and Melissa Cannon Evans.

Timothy Sears Evans, 60, and Melissa Cannon Evans,San Diego Mormon Battalion Historic Site; Oakley 2nd Ward, Kamas Utah Stake, five children. Brother Evans is a former president of the Mexico Monterrey West Mission, high councilor, ward missionary, high priest group instructor, bishop and missionary in the Andes Peru Mission. Dentist and executive operations manager, Cause for Hope. Born in Alameda, Calif., to Sears Joseph and Joyce Orlob Evans.

Sister Evans served with her husband in the Mexico Monterrey West Mission and is a former ward Young Women president, counselor and adviser, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, ward organist and ward missionary. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edwin (Ted) Quayle and Janath Russell Cannon.

Ronald Burton Funk and Wanda Lynne Walker Funk.

Ronald Burton Funk, 65, and Wanda Lynne Walker Funk, New Zealand Temple Visitors Center; Spring Creek Ward, Lehi Utah Stake, 10 children. Brother Funk serves as a high priest group leader and is a former president of the Washington Spokane Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Eastern States Mission. Certified Public Accountant. Born in Monterrey Park, Calif., to Iven Verl and Mona Holladay Funk.

Sister Funk, a stake Relief Society president, served with her husband in the Washington Spokane Mission and is a former ward Relief Society teacher and counselor, and ward Sunday School teacher. Born in Denver, Colo., to Bernard Sanford and Wanda Arrowsmith Walker.

Gary Joseph Higley and Bonita Jean Andrus Higley.

Gary Joseph Higley, 74, and Bonita Jean Andrus Higley, Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center; Boulevard Ward, Idaho Falls Taylor Mountain Stake, four children. Brother Higley serves as a temple preparation teacher and temple ordinance worker and is a former executive secretary in the Asia Area, bishop and counselor, high councilor and gospel doctrine teacher. Retired high school principal. Born in Brigham City, Utah, to Joseph Vallejo and Marguerite Nielsen Higley.

Sister Higley serves, a temple preparation teacher and temple ordinance worker, served with her husband in the Asia Area editorLiahona as the Asia Area and is a former counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, ward Relief Society president and teacher, ward Young Women president and ward Primary president. Born in Shelley, Idaho, to Rolland Joseph and Opal May Andrus.

Stephen Conrad Lenker and Nancy Lee Raymond Lenker.

Stephen Conrad Lenker, 66, and Nancy Lee Raymond Lenker, Hill Cumorah Visitors Center; Blythewood Ward, Columbia South Carolina Stake, three children. Brother Lenker serves as a ward Primary teacher and temple ordinance worker and is a former president of the Albania Tirana Mission, assistant high priest group leader, and served in the New York Rochester and Kenya Nairobi missions, Church security at headquarters. Retired policeman, Los Angeles Police Department. Born in Owatonna, Minn., to Fritz Karl and Hazel Gertrude Nelms Lenker.

Sister Lenker, a ward Primary teacher and temple ordinance worker, served with her husband in the Albania Tirana Mission, New York Rochester Mission, Kenya Nairobi Mission, and Church Security at Headquarters, and is a former ward Relief Society president and counselor and Nursery leader. Born in Paterson, N.J., to Russell Clark and Florence Elizabeth Winans Raymond.

David Michael Macdonald and Jeanne Mary Hopkins Macdonald.

David Michael MacDonald, 65, and Jeanne Mary Hopkins MacDonald,Los Angeles Temple Visitors Center; Palm Desert Ward, Palm Desert California Stake, five children. Brother MacDonald is a former president of the Argentina Salta Mission, bishop, high councilor, counselor in a stake presidency, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Argentina Mission. Endodontist. Born in San Francisco, Calif., to Bradley Malcolm and Beatrice Mary Curtis Macdonald.

Sister MacDonald, a counselor in the ward Relief Society presidency, served with her husband in the Argentina Salta Mission, and is a former ward Young Women president, ward Primary president and teacher, Cub Scout leader and seminary teacher. Born in Santa Cruz, Calif., to Joseph Eugene and Mary Michele Ponza Hopkins.

Wesley Miller White and Kay Singleton White.

Wesley Miller White, 63, and Kay Singleton White, Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center; Hansen Meadows Ward, Syracuse Utah Bluff Stake, seven children. Brother White is a sealer in the Ogden Utah Temple and is a former president of the Florida Orlando Mission, stake president and counselor, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Spanish American Mission. Retired Air Force pilot. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Wesley and E. Myrle Miller White.

Sister White is a hostess in the Conference Center/Joseph Smith Memorial Building; she served with her husband in the Florida Orlando Mission, and is a former ward Relief Society president and teacher, ward Young Women president, nursery leader and ward choir director. Born in Rexburg, Idaho, to Jesse M. and Emma Gail Virgin Singleton.
