As the Church magazines conclude planning for a successful 29th year and look to expand their multimedia offering in their 30th, they also look for a new editorial director to guide their efforts.
For the past seven years, Victor Cave has lead the Liahona, Ensign, New Era and Friend as editorial director of Church magazines. After overseeing steady subscription growth, a push into new technologies, and the launch of a redesigned Liahona magazine, Brother Cave has taken another position at Church headquarters, leaving the editorial director position open.
The new editorial director of Church Magazines will be a senior leader in the Curriculum Department of the Church. Under the direction of the department head and the Priesthood Executive Council of the Church, the editorial director will oversee the planning, creation, production and promotion of the Church's four magazines. He or she will directly supervise the managing editors of these magazines.
Those interested in being considered for the position should have a demonstrated ability to lead a global publishing effort that meets the needs of an international audience. They should also have experience in delivering innovative and creative publishing solutions that take advantage of current and evolving publishing technologies.
Applications are now being accepted through the Church Employment Opportunities Web site at www.lds.jobs.
