The February issue of a magazine published in England presented the Church in a favorable light with photos and text, according to the March 2, 1935, Church News.
The article stated: "An unusual pictorial display of Church scenes, including the Salt Lake Temple, tabernacle and other items of importance, are contained in the February issue of The Monthly Pictorial, published in London, England, a copy of which was received from President Joseph F. Merrill, of the European mission.
"The magazine devotes three full pages inside, to the article written by one of the missionaries, and it is profusely illustrated. The front cover picture is of the Salt Lake Temple flood lighted at night.
"The picture with the descriptive article shows the Seagull monument and the Joseph Smith monument on the Temple block, the tabernacle, exterior and interior, the Mormon Battalion monument and four views of the monument to be erected this summer by the Church on the Hill Cumorah. The brief article tells of the founding of the Church is descriptive of its accomplishments."
