CHICAGO
Students aren't the only ones who are committed to arise early school day mornings to attend seminary. Teachers also have to be up and ready for 6 a.m. class.
Among them is Jared Green who teaches the Chicago 1st and 5th (Spanish) ward seminary class and husband/wife Joseph and Fernanda McCammon who teach the Hyde Park Ward seminary class.
Raised in Beaverton, Ore., Brother Green served in the Japan Fukuoka Mission and then earned a degree in Japanese from BYU. He met Kasia Januszewski from Chicago while they were attending BYU and they were married in the Portland Oregon Temple. They traveled to Chicago during summers to help with Sister Green's family's business. Brother Green said he enjoyed the business — selling kitchen and bathroom supplies — and finally moved permanently to Chicago two years ago.
After serving in the Italy Rome Mission, Brother McCammon met his wife when they both lived in foreign language housing at BYU. They moved to Chicago so Sister McCammon could attend law school at the University of Chicago. A native of Mexico City, she was baptized there at age 16. Brother McCammon, who works at the university, said his wife speaks English, Spanish, Italian and French and is working on German. — Greg Hill
