Temple Square Performances will kick-off the 30th Anniversary of its concert series this year with a concert featuring alumni members of the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus on June 18-19. Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus 2010 Reunion organizers are seeking alumni members who want to participate in the performances and/or other activities where they can reconnect with one another.
Alumni members are asked to visit www.MYSCreunion.org to register for participation, get rehearsal schedules, and learn about reunion activities.
Acceptance to participate in the event will be granted to those who agree to all the requirements and then, on a first-come, first-served basis until sections are filled as time stamped by the Web site.
Robert C. Bowden will conduct the concerts held in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Brother Bowden was the last musical director at the time the group was dissolved and the Temple Square Chorale and Orchestra at Temple Square were organized in 1999. The Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus began in 1969 under the baton of Jay Welch, and it was one of the first groups to perform for the Temple Square Concert Series in 1980.
