Nine new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.

Nine new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.

Cai Lu and Jorge M. Alvarado

Jorge Miguel Alvarado, 39, and Cari Lu Rios Alvarado, three children, Puerto Rico San Juan Mission; Caparra Ward, Toa Baja Puerto Rico Stake. Elder Alvarado serves as an Area Seventy and is a former stake president, ward Young Men president, branch president, ward mission leader and missionary in the Florida Tampa Mission. Coordinator, Church Educational System. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to Miguel Angel Alvarado Santos and Iris Elena Pazo Santiago Alvarado.

Sister Alvarado serves as a seminary teacher and is a former counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president and ward enrichment leader. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico; daughter of Jose Blanco and Maritza Santana.

John K. and Augustina A. Buah

John Kodwo Buah, 52, and Augustina Anita Danso Buah, five children, Nigeria Enugu Mission; Adenta 2nd Ward, Accra Ghana Adenta Stake. Brother Buah is a former counselor in the Ghana Accra Mission presidency, high priest group leader, counselor in stake presidencies, elder quorum president, stake Sunday school president and missionary in the Ghana Accra Mission. Service Center manager, Corporation of the Presiding Bishop. Born in Bonyere, Ghana, to Abizi and Asela-Akuba Allu Nyameke-Buah.

Sister Buah serves as a ward Relief Society teacher, gospel doctrine teacher and temple ordinance worker and is a former ward Primary, Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Relief Society secretary and counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency. Born in Akim Ayirebi, Ghana, to Kwasi Appau-Danso and Elizabeth Ankomaa Akese.

Karim and Rebeca Del Valle

Karim Del Valle, 42, and Rebeca Jeréz Del Valle, four children, Mexico Leon Mission; Héroes de México Ward, San Nicolás México Stake. Brother Del Valle is a former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop and missionary in the Peru Lima North Mission. Employment Resource Center manager, Corporation of the President. Born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to José de Jesús Del Valle Estrada and María Isabel Schekaiban Habib.

Sister Del Valle is a former ward Relief Society president and counselor, counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Primary president and missionary in the Mexico Mexico City South Mission. Born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Daniel Rodríguez Hernández and Irma Jeréz Álvarez.

Arturo and Adriana C. Fernandez

Arturo Fernandez Ramirez, 42, and Adriana Castellano Hooker, four children, Peru Arequipa Mission; Precursores Ward, Lima Peru Maranga Stake. Brother Fernandez is a former stake president and counselor, counselor in a bishopric and branch presidency, Sunday school teacher and missionary in Uruguay Montevideo Mission. Supervisor of Visa and Travel in South America Northwest Area. Born in Lima-Cercado, Peru, to Jose and Lastenia Fernandez.

Sister Fernandez is a former Sunday school teacher, ward music director, counselor in ward Relief Society and Primary presidencies, Primary teacher and ward Primary president. Born in Lima, Peru, to Juan Francisco and Carmen Castellano.

Marian O. and T. Scott Hendricks

Thomas Scott Hendricks, 63, and Marian Olsen Hendricks, six children, Jamaica Kingston Mission; Amarillo 1st Ward, Amarillo Texas Stake. Brother Hendricks is a former temple president and counselor, stake president and counselor and bishop and counselor. Retired FBI Agent. Born in Logan, Utah, to Thomas Scott and Lois Lavon Muse Hendricks.

Sister Hendricks is a former temple matron and assistant to the temple matron, stake Primary president, counselor in a stake Young Women presidency and counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dale Cameron Olsen and Beth Ballard Whitney.

Judith H. and Timothy M. Jones

Timothy Melvin Jones, 62, and Judith Leigh Hyde Jones, eight children, Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission; Monroe 1st Ward, Monroe Utah Stake. Brother Jones is a former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Cumorah Mission. Retired president, Jones and DeMille Engineering. Born in Mesa, Ariz., to Ralph Timothy and Marian Tenney Jones.

Sister Jones is a former stake Young Women president, ward Young Women president and counselor, ward Primary president and nursery leader. Born in Denver, Colo., to Clifford Cowles and Ada Jeanettie Walters Hyde.

Spencer V. and Joyce M. Jones

Spencer Virgil Jones, 64, and Joyce Elizabeth Mathews Jones, three children, New Mexico Farmington Mission; Sharon 5th Ward, Orem Utah Sharon Stake. Brother Jones serves in the Second Quorum of the Seventy and is a former Area Seventy, area executive secretary in the Mexico South Area, mission president in the Chile Antofagasta Mission and missionary in the Argentina North Mission. Business owner. Born in Safford, Ariz., to Virgil Worth and Nellie Mae Baker Jones.

Sister Jones served with her husband in the Chile Antofagasta Mission and is a former missionary in the Mexico South Area, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and seminary teacher. Born in Gallup, N.M., to James Edwin and Dorothy Jean Taylor Mathews.

Elaine W. and Bruce E. Miller

Bruce Evan Miller, 67, and Elaine Whitehead Miller, seven children, Utah Salt Lake City South Mission; Fountain Valley 3rd Ward, Huntington Beach California Stake. Brother Miller serves as a high councilor and is a former missionary in the Australia Brisbane Mission, stake president and counselor, temple ordinance worker, ward mission leader, seminary teacher and missionary in the Eastern States Mission. Retired dentist. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Wade Elliott and Romania Lenora Davis Miller.

Born in Orem, Utah, to James and Alma Hobson Bonner.
