Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly known as Kanesville, is home to two significant events in Church history: the sustaining of Brigham Young as president of the Church and the beginning of the Mormon Battalion's westward march.

The musical "Come Home to Kanesville" tells the story of love and faith among pioneers set against this historical backdrop. This summer, the show will run from July 20 to July 31, excluding Sundays and Mondays, at the Kanesville Tabernacle (222 E. Broadway in Council Bluffs). The show begins at 7 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, and at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays.

Kanesville, Inc., a non-profit organization not affiliated with the Church, has produced the show since 2006

Ages 8 and above are invited, though the show's final dress rehearsals, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, are open to children of all ages.

Seating is first come, first served and admission is free.
