Two new temple presidents have been called by the First Presidency with their wives called as matrons. They will begin service in January.
Donald Eugene Pugh, 62, Cottonwood 13th Ward, Salt Lake Cottonwood Stake, called as president of the Seattle Washington Temple, succeeding President Galen L. Skeem. President Pugh's wife, Jane Hanseen Pugh, will serve as temple matron. He is a gospel doctrine teacher and has served as president of the Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission, stake president, high councilor and bishop. Retired chief executive officer and owner of Cummins Northwest, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Warren Edward and Leta Vivian Curtis Pugh.
Sister Pugh serves in a ward Relief Society presidency and served with her husband as he presided over the Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission. She has also served as a stake Young Women president's counselor, ward Relief Society president and as a Sunday School and Relief Society teacher. She was born in Logan, Utah, to Robert Blaine and Melba Stephenson Hanseen.
D. Chad Richardson, 67, McAllen 1st Ward, McAllen Texas Stake, called as president of the Panama City Panama Temple, succeeding President Ronald D. Jamison. President Richardson's wife, Elizabeth Blackhurst Richardson, will serve as temple matron. Recently released as an Area Seventy, he has served as president of the Spain Seville Mission, stake president, stake president's counselor, stake mission president, high councilor and bishop. A professor and department chairman at the University of Texas-Pan American, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ivan Ross and Lola Despain Richardson.
Sister Richardson served with her husband as he presided over the Spain Seville Mission. She has also served as a ward Primary president, ward Primary president's counselor and seminary teacher. She was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Wallace Mitchell and Sarah Bernice Gardner Blackhurst.
