The 88th annual Brigham Young University Campus Education Week will take place Aug. 16-20 at various locations throughout campus.
The theme for this year's conference comes from the 88th section of the Doctrine and Covenants: "Teach one another words of wisdom." The conference will offer more than 1,100 classes covering hundreds of topics including the family, finances, health and fitness, political science, music, parenting, self-improvement and single parenting, as well as 70 classes for youth.
"This year's theme highlights the Lord's desire that we instruct one another in order to strengthen our faith and be strengthened in the gospel," said H. Bruce Payne, program administrator for Education Week.
Elder Steven E. Snow of the Presidency of the Seventy will be the Education Week devotional speaker Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 11:10 a.m. in the Marriott Center.
Elder Snow was called to serve as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy in March 2001 and was appointed a member of the Presidency of the Seventy in April 2007. Prior to his call to serve as a full-time General Authority of the Church, Elder Snow was a senior partner in the Utah law firm of Snow Nuffer and has been a member and president of his local school board, chairman of the Utah State Board of Regents and chairman of the Western States Commission of Higher Education.
At-the-door registration will be available throughout the conference at the northwest corner of the Marriott Center and in the Wilkinson Student Center Garden Court. A full schedule of events is available at educationweek.byu.edu.
