SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority announced Friday that North Temple remains closed between 300 West and 600 West for reconstruction of the North Temple Viaduct.
Visitors who may be attending the General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may still access east and west North Temple using one of two detours.
If traveling west, proceed north on 300 West, then west to 900 West and south to North Temple. Eastbound travelers should go south on 900 West, then east on 400 South and north to North Temple.
Other alternates such as 200 South, 300 North, and 400 North may also be used, however motorists may experience delays waiting for trains at railroad crossings on those streets.
The North Temple viaduct, which crosses Union Pacific and UTA railroad tracks, is being rebuilt as part of the Airport TRAX light rail project. The viaduct is expected to be complete and reopen in fall 2011.
