Performers lined the entrance of the Polynesian Cultural Center Nov. 19 to
welcome Church President Thomas S. Monson. President Monson visited the
center with President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First
Presidency, and his wife, Kathleen, and Elder William R. Walker of the
Seventy and his wife, Vicki. The guests visited select villages and then
attended the evening performance at the center. Von Orgill, PCC president,
and his wife, Sherri, accompanied the guests on the visit.
President Monson is in Hawaii to rededicate the Laie Hawaii Temple, which
recently underwent extensive renovation and is to be dedicated Sunday. On
Saturday, he visited the refurbished temple, accompanied by his first
counselor in the First Presidency, President Henry B. Eyring; Elder Quentin
L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve; and Elder William R. Walker of the
Seventy and executive director of the Temple Department. Sisters Kathleen
