Eight new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.

Elsa M. and Lizardo H. Amaya

Lizardo Amaya Hernandez, 51, and Elsa Marina Granados Camargo Amaya, three children, Ecuador Guayaquil North Mission; Chía Ward, Bogota Colombia Granada Stake. Brother Amaya serves as a counselor in the Colombia Missionary Training Center and is a former stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, stake Young Men president, high councilor, counselor in a bishopric and high priest group leader. Regional coordinator, Seminaries and Institutes of Religion. Born in San Vicente, Colombia, to Rodrigo Amaya Amaya and Maurilia Hernández.

Sister Amaya is a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, ward Relief Society teacher, ward Relief Society secretary, and seminary teacher. Born in Sogamoso, Colombia, to Angel Maria Granados Cely and Flor Marina Camargo Porras.

Patricia H. and Jay D. Clark

Jay Dean Clark, 64, and Patricia Hoge Clark, six children, Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission; Mapleton 6th Ward, Mapleton Utah North Stake. He is a former counselor in a stake presidency, stake institute teacher, high councilor, bishop, branch president, ward Sunday School teacher and missionary in the Brazilian South Mission. Retired owner, surgeon and director, Cataract & Lasik Center of Utah. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Howard Warner and Edith Carol Hobbs Clark.

Sister Clark is a former ordinance worker in the Provo Utah Temple, stake institute teacher, stake Young Women camp director, stake Young Women secretary, gospel doctrine teacher, Young Women camp director, and a counselor in a Relief Society presidency. Born in Preston, Idaho, to Walter Grimmett and Leva Barbara Rich Hoge.

The Clarks began their service in December.

Mikele R. and Arlene C. Padovich

Mikele Roman Padovich, 61, and Arlene Louise Crist Padovich, four children, Zambia Lusaka Mission; Saugus 2nd Ward, Santa Clarita California Stake. He serves as a high councilor and is a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, ward mission leader, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in the Northern States Mission. Executive, Warner Bros. Studio. Born in Burbank, Calif., to Joseph and Melba Mary Chadburn Padovich.

Sister Padovich serves as a seminary teacher and is a former stake Primary president, stake Young Women board member, Relief Society board member, Relief Society president, Primary president, and Young Women board member. Born in Gary, Ind., to Earl Clyde and Emma Alice Woolston Crist.

Ferdinand and Charmie U. Pangan

Ferdinand Pelin Pangan, 43, and Charmie Kho Uayan Pangan, four children, Philippines Davao Mission; Bugo Ward, Cagayan de Oro Philippines East Stake. He is a former stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, counselor in a bishopric and missionary in the Philippines Quezon City West Mission. Coordinator, Seminaries and Institutes of Religion. Born in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, to Benjamin Valledor and Catalina Penaso Pelin Pangan.

Sister Pangan serves as a Young Women teacher and is a former counselor in a Primary presidency. Born in Davao City, Philippines, to Severino Lingad Uayan, Sr. and Milagros Garcia Kho Uayan.

John C. and Anne P. Pingree

John Cannon Pingree, Jr., 44, and Anne Pugsley Pingree, five children, Texas Houston Mission; Valley View 7th Ward, Salt Lake Valley View Stake. He is a former stake president, high councilor, bishop, elders quorum president, gospel doctrine teacher, seminary teacher and missionary in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. Vice president, Community Benefit, Intermountain Healthcare. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Cannon and Carmen Sweeten Boyden Pingree.

Sister Pingree is a former counselor in a Primary presidency, Primary music leader, Primary teacher, Young Women adviser, Young Women secretary, Cub Scout leader, achievement day leader and missionary in the England Coventry Mission. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Philip Cannon and Margaret Walton Pugsley.

Douglas M. and Rhea M. Rawlings

Douglas Martin Rawlings, 64, and Rhea May Murdock Rawlings, nine children, Finland Helsinki Mission; Lunada Bay Ward, Palos Verdes California Stake. He serves as a ward missionary and as an assistant public affairs director on the Southern California Public Affairs Council. He is a former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, counselor in a bishopric and missionary in the Finland Helsinki Mission. Partner, Quinn Emanuel LLP. Born in Oakland, Calif., to John Birkner and Evelyn Lorraine Eads Rawlings.

Sister Rawlings serves as a seminary teacher and as a temple ordinance worker in the Los Angeles California Temple. She is a former gospel doctrine teacher, counselor in a Relief Society presidency, counselor in a Young Women presidency, Primary president and missionary in the Uruguay Paraguay Mission. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Merlin Leo and Rhea Wilde Murdock.

Raul and Maria C. Rodriguez

Raul Osvaldo Rodriguez Morel, 39, and María del Carmen Jessenia Collado Pichardo, Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission; Jardines Ward, Santiago Dominican Republic East Stake. He serves as a counselor in the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission and is a former counselor in a stake presidency, counselor in a stake mission presidency, high councilor, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, branch president and missionary in the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission. Coordinator, Seminaries and Institutes of Religion. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, to Ubaldo Agustín Rodriguez Gutiérrez and Reyna Ysabel Morel.

Sister Rodriguez serves as a stake Primary president and is a former counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, ward Primary president, visiting teaching coordinator, Sunday School teacher, family history specialist, counselor in a Young Women presidency and counselor in a Primary presidency. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, to Rafael Ignacio Collado Peña and Carmen Santa Pichardo.

Elizabeth S. and Jerry M. Toombs

Jerry Marlin Toombs, 55, and Elizabeth Joyce Stettler Toombs, seven children, Colorado Denver North Mission; Benson 2nd Ward, Benson Utah Stake. He serves as a Sunday School president and is a former stake president, stake mission president, bishop, ward mission leader, Aaronic Priesthood adviser and missionary in the Netherlands Amsterdam Mission. Financial adviser/owner, Summit Group Financial. Born in Tooele, Utah, to Marlin Nilson and Margareta Haldis Fransson Toombs.

Sister Toombs serves as a counselor in a stake Young Women presidency and is a former organist, Sunday School teacher, Relief Society teacher, nursery leader, Cub Scout leader and Primary president. Born in Logan, Utah, to Golden Ray and Hazel Dona Campbell Stettler.
