Eight new Missionary Training Center presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service in January.

Susan R. and Calvin W. Allred

Calvin W. Allred, 64, and Susan Roana Owens Allred, eight children, Chile Missionary Training Center; Willcox 2nd Ward, St. David Arizona Stake. Brother Allred is a former president of the Texas Houston South Mission, counselor in the Arizona Tucson Mission, stake president, bishop, high priest group leader, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Andes South Mission. Self-employed pecan farmer. Born in Logan, Utah, to Wells M. and Loriol Cox Allred.

Sister Allred served with her husband in the Texas Houston South Mission and is a former ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Young Women president and counselor, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, nursery leader, and seminary teacher. Born in Panguitch, Utah, to David Kern and Grace Beckstrom Owens.

Marilyn and R. Lavor Cardon

Royal Lavor Cardon, 67, and Marilyn Pessner Cardon, five children, Peru Missionary Training Center; Mapleton 5th Ward, Mapleton Utah Stake. Brother Cardon is a former president of the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission, district president at the Provo MTC, high councilor, bishop, elders quorum president, Aaronic priesthood adviser and missionary in the Mexican Mission. Retired general contractor. Born in Durango, Colo., to Joseph Phillip and Anna Marie Cardon.

Sister Cardon served with her husband in the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission and is a former ward choir director, seminary teacher, ward Young Women secretary, Young Women adviser and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Chico, Calif., to Richard Oswin and Emma Jean Pessner.

Mary Ann and Ralph G. Degn

Ralph Gerdes Degn, 71, and Mary Ann Daynes Degn, eight children, Brazil Missionary Training Center; Wellsville 2nd Ward, Wellsville Utah Stake. Brother Degn is a former president of the Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission, executive secretary to the Perpetual Education Fund in the Brazil North Area, bishop, ward mission leader, Varsity Scout coach and missionary in the Brazil Mission. Piano Player, Pickleville Playhouse. Born in Logan, Utah, to Wilford Bennie and Iris Swapp Degn.

Sister Degn served with her husband in the Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission and with the Brazil North Area Perpetual Education Fund. She is a former ward missionary, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency and ward Young Women president. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wilford Woodruff and Antoinette Ivins Wilson Daynes.

Vanessa and Stephen L. Graham

Stephen Lamar Graham, 67, and Vanessa Jane Schofield Graham, five children, Ghana Missionary Training Center; Oak Hills 2nd Ward, Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake. Brother Graham is a former president of the Tahiti Papeete Mission, temple ordinance worker, stake physical facilities representative, high councilor, bishop, ward Young Men president and missionary in the French-Polynesia Mission. Associate director of training, Provo Missionary Training Center. Born in Rigby, Idaho, to Leonard Everett and Evelyn Green Graham.

Sister Graham served with her husband in the Tahiti Papeete Mission and is a former temple ordinance worker, ward Primary president and counselor, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency, counselor in a stake Primary presidency, and ward camp director. Born in Rochdale, England, to John Armitage and Irene Plumtree Schofield.

Sally and Timothy Warren Nicolaysen

Timothy Warren Nicolaysen, 63, and Sally Finlayson Nicolaysen, four children, Guatemala Missionary Training Center; River View 8th Ward, Draper Utah River View Stake. Brother Nicolaysen is a former president of the Venezuela Caracas Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor, high priest group leader, service missionary and missionary in the Mexican Mission. Retired chairman, ES-O-EN Corp. dba Taco Bell. Born in Modesto, Calif., to Stanley Orvin and Edith Melvina Pope Nicolaysen.

Sister Nicolaysen served with her husband in the Venezuela Caracas Mission and is a former counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, service missionary, chair of activities committee, Primary and Relief Society teacher. Born in Midland, Mich., to Lloyd Taylor and Shirley Stevenson Finlayson.

Kenneth L. and Charlotte Openshaw

Kenneth Lynn Openshaw, 67, and Lucy Charlotte Wright Openshaw, five children, Argentina Missionary Training Center; Anthem Ward, Henderson Nevada Anthem Stake. Brother Openshaw is a former president of the Chile Rancagua Mission, temple sealer, high councilor, temple ordinance worker, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in the North Argentine Mission. Retired consultant. Born in Bremerton, Wash., to Herbert LaVaughn and Shirley Alice Eite Openshaw.

Sister Openshaw served with her husband in the Chile Rancagua Mission and is a former ward and stake Relief Society president, ward missionary and temple ordinance worker. Born in New York, N.Y., to Jay William and Emily Fox Clawson Wright.

Kenneth Dudley and Janet Reber

Kenneth Dudley Reber, 70, and Janet Dahl Reber, eight children, South Africa Missionary Training Center; Old Mission Ward, Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake. Brother Reber is a former president of the Austria Vienna Mission, stake patriarch, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, temple sealer and ordinance worker and missionary in the Germany Munich Mission. Sister Reber served with her husband in the Austria Vienna and Germany Munich missions.
