An invitation to all Church members, non-members, family and friends has been extended to take part in the annual broadcast of the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. The program will transpire in front of a live audience and originate from the Conference Center on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. mountain standard time. Traditionally, the devotional includes a Christmas message from each member of the First Presidency along with music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square.
The First Presidency Christmas Devotional will be available on various broadcast, cable, satellite, and Internet sites throughout the world, including Mormon Channel HD Radio. To find what is available in your area, check local program listings. Information about viewing or listening to the program on the Internet can be viewed at mormonchannel.org, byubroadcasting.org, or ksl.com. The program will also be available in the audio video archives on lds.org shortly after the completion of the devotional.
For those with tickets, attendees need to be in their seats 30 minutes before the event start time. Admission to the Conference Center is limited to those ages eight and older and best dress is requested. Standby seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The standby line is formed at the north gate of Temple Square.
The Church satellite system will carry the devotional broadcast to meetinghouses in various languages. The devotional will also be rebroadcast at various times for those affected by significant time differences. The devotional was scheduled early in the Christmas season so that it may be recorded for use later. Leaders may use all or portions of the devotional with local Christmas programs.
