LAIE, HAWAII
Brigham Young University–Hawaii announced that the groundbreaking for a new multi-use building and new student housing facilities will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, following the Fall 2011 Commencement exercises to be held that morning.
Elder Jeffery R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The new multi-use building will house the business management/hospitality and tourism management and accounting departments and will serve as a meetinghouse for several of the student congregations.
Architectural renderings and drawings of this building are on display in the Aloha Center on the BYU–Hawaii campus.
The groundbreaking event will take place on the building site for the multi-use building (south of the campus stake center on the big circle). While some preparatory work has already begun on locations for the multi-use building and student housing facilities, the groundbreaking will mark the official construction phase of the new buildings.
