Church leaders will dedicate the new Kansas City Missouri Temple on May 6. The temple, which was announced Oct. 4, 2008, will serve Latter-day Saints in the greater Kansas City area and is located on a site in Clay County, Missouri.

The First Presidency has announced open house and dedication dates for the Kansas City Missouri Temple. The public is invited to visit the temple during an open house from Saturday, April 7, 2012, until Saturday, April 21, 2012, excluding Sundays. Free reservations can be made through kansascitymormontemple.org in the coming weeks.

The temple will be formally dedicated on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in three sessions. The dedicatory sessions will be broadcast to Church units within the temple district.

In conjunction with the dedication of the temple, there will also be a cultural celebration featuring music and dance on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
