Create.lds.org is hosting a video contest. It runs from January 30 through February 20, 2012. The direction is to create a one minute or shorter video to introduce the site. Explain the purpose of the Create site, the talents members can share, and the blessings and opportunities available through the site.
Help others discover how they can contribute their talents.
Before you begin, familiarize yourself with our site, Create.lds.org.
Submission Start Date
Monday, January 30, 2012
Submission Deadline
Monday, February 20, 2012, at 8:00 a.m. (MST)
Contest Rules
Must be a member of the Church, 18 years of age or older at the start of the contest.
Videos must be high quality and meet the Church’s submission standards.
Your video must NOT contain any logos, trademarks, or brand names (cars, clothes, smart phones, computers, and so on).
Music must be selected from the approved list or your own original composition.
You may enter as many videos in this contest as you would like.
Video must be submitted with signed participant and location releases.
Technical Requirements
Your video should be in one of the following formats:
FORMATS CODECS MAXIMUM LENGTH
MP4 H.264 1 minute
MOV H.264, DV
Submit your video in the highest resolution possible.
Preferred audio quality:
Stereo audio - must be fully mono compatible.
Sampling rates should be 48kHz (16 bit).
Required Releases
Participant and location releases are required for every video with identifiable people or locations. Video submission without required releases may be disqualified from becoming finalists. (Releases are not needed for Church-owned property, such as temples or meetinghouses.)
How to Submit
Step 1: Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo.
When uploading your video to YouTube or Vimeo, include the following information:
Video title should include “create.lds.org.”
Video should be listed as a public video.
Video should have the following tags:
Create.lds.org
LDS Photographers
LDS Videographers
LDS Musicians
Mormons
Step 2: Send an email to create.videos@ldschurch.org with:
Your Name
Name of music used in your video
The link to your video on YouTube or Vimeo
Required signed releases
* Winner and finalists will be required to sign a release granting an unlimited license to the video.
Winner Announced
The contest winner will be announced on create.lds.org and our Facebook page on Friday, February 24, 2012.
Contest Prize
The winning video will be posted on create.lds.org and will receive the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s CD Heavensong. Up to five finalists will also be posted on a page on create.lds.org.
