The First Presidency announced changes to the South America South Area Presidency in a letter dated Nov. 8, 2012.
Elder Mervyn B. Arnold has been released as President of the South America South Area and will receive a new assignment at Church headquarters.
Elder Walter F. González, who has been serving as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy, has been released from that assignment and will serve as Area President. Elder Jorge F. Zeballos and Elder Francisco J. Viñas will continue to serve in their respective assignments as counselors in the South America South Area presidency.
The First Presidency said in the letter: "We express gratitude for the dedicated service of these brethren and wish them well in their assignments."
