The 2014 gospel curriculum for members of the Church worldwide is now available for download at lds.org/manual/2014. Changes this year will be a new Melchizedek Priesthood and Relief Society manual continuing the Teachings of the Presidents of the Church highlighting the life of Joseph Fielding Smith. The Primary outline for sharing time is also new. A complete list of materials for Melchizedek Priesthood, Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, Young Men and Young Women can be found online.
Students and teachers are encouraged where possible to use digital versions of the 2014 curriculum materials. Print materials are still available for purchase but wards and branches should determine how many printed items they already have available and how many teachers and members use electronic versions rather than printed materials. If there is still a need for printed materials, wards and branches may order these items by visiting store.lds.org and clicking on Unit Materials.
The Mutual theme for 2014 is "Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness" (Moroni 10:32). The theme may be used to enrich Mutual opening exercises, as a topic for sacrament meeting talks by youth or to provide focus for youth activities such as camp, youth conference and devotionals. It may also be used to guide youth in strengthening their testimonies of the Savior's Atonement and remaining worthy to attend the temple. Resources for introducing the theme, including videos and music, will be available to leaders online by the end of 2013. Additional materials supporting both the theme and youth curriculum will be made available in Church magazines and on LDS.org throughout 2014.
Primary teachers and leaders will use the following manuals in 2014: For Nursery Class (ages 18 months–2 years): Behold Your Little Ones: Nursery Manual. For Sunbeam Class (age 3 years): Primary 1: I Am a Child of God. For CTR 4, 5, 6, and 7 (ages 4–7 years): Primary 2: Choose the Right. For Valiant 8, 9, 10, and 11 (ages 8–11 years): Primary 6: Old Testament. For Sharing time (ages 3–11 years): 2014 Outline for Sharing Time: Families Are Forever (copies of this outline will be mailed to each unit.)
In 2014, youth classes will continue to use Come, Follow Me: Learning Resources for Youth. The adult Sunday School course of study for 2014 is the Old Testament. The Old Testament Gospel Doctrine Teacher's Manual and Old Testament Class Member Study Guide have not changed. New members, investigators, and members returning to activity will study from Gospel Principles.
