Beginning in 2014, a new semiannual general women's meeting will replace the general Relief Society and Young Women meetings, the First Presidency announced on Nov. 1. All females, ages 8 and older are invited to attend.
"As the women of the Church gather together — sisters, mothers and daughters — they, their families and the Church will be strengthened and blessed," the First Presidency stated in a letter announcing the new semiannual meetings.
The general meetings will be held the Saturday before each general conference and will be conducted by Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organization presidencies.
General meetings for Latter-day Saint women, young women and older Primary girls have been held, in various combinations, for over three decades.
