  • Members in Chuuk open arms to apostle

    During a May tour of Asia and the Pacific, Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve dedicated the newly completed Namoneas Chuuk District Center in the Federated States of Micronesia on Wednesday, May 12.
  • New mission presidents

    Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.
  • New missions 10 announced in seven areas

    To better align resources and adjust to the ever changing needs of the Church, 10 new missions will be organized in July, while 14 other missions will be combined with neighboring missions. The resulting number of missions will be 340.
  • Country information: Republic of Korea

    Latter-day Saint servicemen performed the first missionary work during the Korean War, between 1951 and 1953. Among the first Korean members was Ho Jik Kim, converted while earning a doctorate in the United States. He was baptized on 29 September 1951 in the Susquehanna River, near Harmony, Pa.
